Heidi Chapados
Heidi Chapados has been teaching ESL in high school for 15 years and is currently head of the English department at Collège Saint-Paul. She studied for her B.Ed. at Concordia University and has recently completed a Graduate Certificate in Educational Leadership and would like to pursue her career as a school administrator in the upcoming years. In the classroom, she works hard on developing meaningful relationships with her students and engages them with fun and creative projects all while integrating the use of technology. She is more recently interested in working on offering differentiation tasks, flexible learning and team teaching, especially with her students with learning difficulties.
Cailine Kyle
Cailine Kyle currently teaches secondary 1 and 5 Enriched second language English at Académie Lafontaine in the Laurentians and serves as the pedagogical leader of the language department. She graduated with a B.Ed. in TESL from Concordia University in 2011 and is completing her graduate certificate in Educational Leadership to perhaps one day pursue new challenges as a school administrator. She also has experience as a grade 6 intensive English teacher. She is passionate about reading and loves to share her love of novels with her students. She is always looking for new and creative ways to approach second language learning in her classrooms and is big on multi-competency-based projects. She is a dedicated educator who always seeks new ways to engage and inspire her students.
Marie-Eve Vincent
Marie-Eve Vincent graduated from McGill University in 2003. After teaching English as a second language at the CSSPI for a few years, she joined the English department of the Collège de l’Assomption in 2008. She has mostly taught at the secondary 2 level (core and enriched) but also has experience in secondary 1,3, and 4. A flexible classroom and a gradeless method of evaluation are two major changes that she implemented to improve her students learning experience. She has also been acting as a tech coach at the CLA for the past two years.
Meghan M. Robertson
Meghan M. Robertson graduated with her B. Ed. in TESL from McGill University in 2010.During her studies, she completed a high school internship in Hong Kong (China) and then studied pedagogy for a semester at Melbourne University in Australia. Since 2011, she has been an ESL teacher at Collège de l’Assomption. She has spent the majority of her career teaching in secondary 5 (core and enriched) and secondary 1 (enriched). She was a member of her school’s “Commission pédagogique” for several years. In order to reduce student academic anxiety and improve student learning accountability, she has adopted a gradeless method of evaluation and a flexible classroom.
Stéphanie Pézolet
Stéphanie Pézolet has been an English teacher for 25 years. She works at le Séminaire Saint-François in Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures as an ELA Secondary 2 and EESL Secondary 3 teacher. She is also part of her school’s team of pedagogical consultants. She has always been focused on integrating technologies in her class projects and is currently working towards obtaining her qualification as a Google certified trainer. In her classroom, she enjoys adding a touch of history to her lessons. Stéphanie is also a health and wellness coach.
Emilie Duchesne
Emilie Duchesne graduated from Bishop’s University with a double major in English and in Education. She taught ELA for a few years in the public sector for the Eastern Townships school board and is now teaching ESL at École secondaire de Bromptonville since 2016. Aspiring to be a leader of change in her school, she is on the pedagogical innovation committee. She is passionate about pedagogy and motivates her students through various projects, all while encouraging technology within the classroom. Her specialty is in cycle one, but she is currently experimenting with integrating leadership activities with her secondary 5 group. You can find her in the mountains hiking or skiing in her free time.
France Legault
France Legault est conseillère pédagogique RÉCIT, spécialiste en langues, et responsable d’équipe pour la Fédération des établissements d’enseignement privés (FEEP). Détentrice d’une maitrise en technologie éducative de l’Université TÉLUQ, elle s’intéresse principalement à la didactique globale du français et de l’anglais langue seconde, à l’utilisation du numérique ainsi qu’à la transférabilité des pratiques pédagogiques issues de milieux francophones minoritaires en milieux multiculturels.
Caroline Chaput
Caroline Chaput est conseillère pédagogique pour le RÉCIT de l’enseignement privé. Elle a enseigné au primaire pendant plusieurs années et a complété un diplôme d’études supérieures en enseignement au préscolaire et au primaire. L’accompagnement, l’écoute et la rigueur sont au cœur de son approche. Passionnée de la pédagogie, Caroline a cultivé une curiosité pour diverses pratiques pédagogiques et différents programmes. D’ailleurs, plusieurs expériences professionnelles l’ont poussée à connaître le programme international ainsi que le programme d’enseignement de l’anglais. Elle a un intérêt particulier pour les approches qui placent les élèves au coeur des apprentissages.
Karine Legault
Karine Legault, called Mrs. K. 😊by her students, has been teaching English as a second language in elementary school for the past 18 years. She teaches both grade 5 and 6 at Academie Lafontaine in the Laurentians. Her approach is based on establishing a solid relationship with her students and building up their confidence throughout their journey of learning a new language. She integrates creative projects through reading, stem activities and technology. She uses diversified approaches to engage her students and reach all types of learners. One of her favourite tools is graphic novels. She is always inclined to try new methods to enliven her teaching. Her strength is to make everyone feel special and unique.
